There’s no finer way to travel than onboard the world’s most opulent train, and, of all the routes served by the Venice Simplon-Orient Express, Venice to Paris, via Budapest, is amongst the most enchanting. Starting out from Italy’s city of canals, the jewel of the Danube, with its stunning riverfront abundant in grand architecture, will be your next stop, before embarking on a journey through some of Europe’s finest scenery and finally arriving in France’s most romantic town. Those who don’t appreciate the finer things in life need not apply.

Day 1
Arrive at Venice Santa Lucia station to board the Simplon-Orient Express, with a steward ready and waiting to take you to your private cabin. After early-evening departure prepare for an indulgent four course meal in one of the fabulously restored restaurant cars, before either retiring to find a cosy bedroom now prepared, or heading to the Bar Car for elegant nighttime drinks.

Day 2
Wake to enjoy breakfast in your cabin, at a time of your choosing, before spending the morning at your leisure en route to the first port of call. Later, sit down to gorge on a three-course lunch prepared by expert epicures as the train draws ever closer to Hungary’s world class capital. Finally arriving in Budapest mid-afternoon, a transfer will be waiting to escort you to your chosen hotel for a two-night stay.

Day 3
Enjoy a day at your own pace, exploring one of the most spectacular, beautiful and fascinating cities in the world. With an abundance of museums, palatial buildings and secretive gems to uncover, we implore you to cover as much of this intriguing and unarguably fantastic town as possible.

Day 4
Head back to the station to rejoin the Venice Simplon-Orient Express. Departing in the morning, afternoon tea will then be served in the comfort of your own cabin. Following this, spend the remainder of the day relaxing in your private quarters, or mingling with other passengers in the Bar Car, whilst taking in some of Central Europe’s most breathtaking scenery.

Later sit down to a sumptuous four course evening meal, created by our resident French chefs, followed by evening drinks in the Bar Car, where elegant cocktails are served alongside fine liquoers, before retiring to your cabin, which has now been converted into a cosy bedroom.

Day 5
Wake to find a continental breakfast served in your cabin by the steward, before finally pulling in to the final destination on your journey, France’s fabulous capital, Paris.
