Taking in three equally fabulous but wholly varied destinations, the Venice Simplon-Orient Express route from Venice to London via Prague is a true odyssey of distinction. From Italy’s romantic city of canals, to the Czech capital and its medieval ambience, and onto Britain’s beating cultural heart, en route you can expect to see some of the continent’s most enchanting countryside, all the while traveling in style onboard the world’s most famous and opulent train.
Day 1
Arrive at Venice Santa Lucia Station to board the Venice-Simplon Orient Express, with a helpful steward on hand and ready to show you to your cabin. Once settled in, dinner, as prepared by the talented French chefs in the kitchens, will be served in one of the stunningly restored restaurant cars- works of art in themselves. Following your four-course gastronomic experience, either retire to the comfort of your cabin, now transformed into a cosy bedroom, or enjoy drinks in the Bar Car while mingling with your fellow travellers.
Day 2
Wake to have breakfast brought to your cabin, at a time to suit you. After spending the morning relaxing in the comfort of your own private quarters, looking out on the stunning European countryside passing by out of the window, move on to one of the restaurant cars to enjoy a delectable three-course lunch before the train pulls into Prague’s Smichov Station in the afternoon, where a transfer will be waiting to take you to the hotel of your choice for a two-night stay.
Day 3
Rise in the Czech capital to enjoy a day of leisure. With so many sights and attractions crammed into a relatively small area, Prague is the ideal city to explore independently if you don’t decide to partake in a tour. See iconic landmarks like Hradcany Castle, meander through the quaint Old Town square, or head to one of the wonderful museums and art galleries for a cultural adventure.
Day 4
Enjoy a morning at leisure before rejoining the Venice-Simplon Orient Express at Prague’s Smichov Station. After departing, afternoon tea will be served by your steward as you relax on board the train. Later, sit down in one of the opulent Restaurant Cars to enjoy a leisurely four-course dinner, as prepared by one of the highly trained French chefs, before either retiring to your cabin or moving on to the Bar Car for a nightcap.
Day 5
A continental breakfast will be brought to your cabin by the steward. Next, enjoy a morning of leisure making your way to the Restaurant Car for a delicious brunch as the English Channel approaches. Once across the sea into the UK, say goodbye to the Venice Simplon Orient-Express and board the Belmond British Pullman, another intricately detailed and beautifully designed train, for the final leg of the journey to London, enjoying afternoon tea and a glass of English sparkling wine as you draw closer to the British capital, arriving early evening.
